DraftKings has Texas as a 1.5-point home favorite, the same coin flip with a home-field toll attached. Both teams opened with blowout wins of 50-plus points, both are ranked inside the top five, and both quarterbacks, Julian Sayin and Arch Manning, are Heisman-caliber and carrying real question marks from last season. Ohio State has won the last two meetings, including a January playoff win, but this is the first time Texas has hosted, with College GameDay in Austin and a raucous home crowd behind the Longhorns. A market this evenly split after four months of trading means the crowd has heard every argument on both sides and still cannot pick a winner. That is precisely why this is the best game of the weekend.
TRADE 2: Michigan vs. Oklahoma
Michigan hosts No. 11 Oklahoma at noon in Ann Arbor, the first-ever meeting between these programs at Michigan Stadium, and the market has Michigan getting 5.5 points at home despite Oklahoma being the higher-ranked team. That gap between the ranking and the number is the trade. Oklahoma won 10 games last year and enters with quarterback John Mateer, who opened this season with nearly 400 yards and three touchdowns. Michigan counters with freshman sensation Bryce Underwood and a defense that has 12 different players with at least a share of a career sack. Both teams enter 1-0. This is a genuine Big Ten-SEC measuring-stick game in Week 2, the kind of early-season test that tells the selection committee more in September than most teams manage to show all October.
TRADE 3: Buffalo Bills vs. Houston Texans
Sunday’s opening slate features a real clash of identities: the league’s No. 4 scoring offense last season against the league’s No. 2 scoring defense. Polymarket has the Texans winning at 49.5%, meaning Buffalo sits just above at roughly 50.5%, as close to a true coin flip as this market gets. The head-to-head history adds intrigue. The two teams have met four times since 2020, with Houston winning three of them by a combined 10 points and Buffalo’s lone win coming by 40. Small margins have decided almost every meeting except one blowout, and the market is treating this one the same way. Whichever strength wins out, Buffalo’s explosive offense or Houston’s suffocating defense, decides the game, and the crowd genuinely does not know which one that is.
TRADE 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Baker Mayfield and Joe Burrow, two former number-one overall picks and Heisman winners, meet in Cincinnati on Sunday, and the market has a clear lean here despite the personal history favoring Tampa Bay. Kalshi gives the Bengals a 65% win probability, even though Mayfield holds a 3-1 head-to-head edge over Burrow across four career meetings. That gap between the market and the individual matchup history is the story. Cincinnati is chasing a fourth straight win over Tampa Bay as a franchise, and the crowd is backing the trend over the quarterback matchup, betting that a full Bengals roster beats a strong individual storyline. When a market disagrees this clearly with a head-to-head narrative, it usually means the roster talent gap is bigger than the box score rivalry suggests.
